Easy to use February 25, 2010 Kathleen Partridge (Portland) Bought the Motorola T305 Bluetooth Hands free for my husband who wears hearing aides so can't use an ear device. It works very well, great volume, little background noise, easy to use. My only complaint would be that the directions aren't very clear about where the "on" button is. It is a tiny little thing on the very top of the speaker. But once we found that, it synched up very easily and works as promised. I have recommended this speaker to a number of friends.
Works well February 19, 2010 What do I know? (Victoria B.C.) Good stand alone unit as an alternative to an earpiece, doesn't take long to master. Can be used outside vehicle, works better than any phone speaker if more than one person would like to speak to the caller concurrently. Some people moan about the flashing blue light for night driving, that's one reason electricians tape was invented...
Prefer the T505 because it can integrate with audio system. So if tunes cranked you won't miss call, with the T305 call could be missed, but if you don't listen to deafening music, it does a great job.
Always, always remember the unit has a 30 ft range and does not turn on and off with one's vehicle. So if you are 20 ft away from the unit and it is not shut off, you will have difficulty communicating with your caller.
Some flaws February 11, 2010 Robert J. Hicks (MI USA) OK, this thing works fine. It holds a charge a LONG time and the sound quality is OK. If the review ended there, I would give it 5 stars.
First of all, the on/off button is way too small and hard to activate.
Second of all, I have some experience with "human factors" engineering. I think chapter 1 in the book says: "Flashing lights mean ATTENTION". The light should not flash when it means "all is well". The flashing light is a distraction. It is very surprising that Motorola would make this mistake. It is more frustrating in that the issue is so unnecessary. It's not like it would not be even cheaper to have a lower intensity, steady light that indicated a connection.
But the flashing light is not JUST a distraction. I was on a trip at night with the unit on the visor. I run with my truck on cruise control and I noticed that repeatedly people would come up upon me at a faster rate, brake and tailgate me. This would continue for several minutes until they finally passed me.
After some experimentation with hiding the unit, it has become apparent that they think the flashing light is either a radar detector giving me a warning or perhaps even indicates that I am a police vehicle (in a red Chevy pickup, go figure). Either way I have to hide the unit at night.
There are several comments saying "just cover the light" and that is what I have done. I took a can of black "plastic" spray paint and painted over the light. Looks like you-know-what but it does the job.
My point is it is a stupid, unnecessary mistake that would be easily avoided. A new product should not have to be redesigned by the end user for something this simple.
Good Speakerphone February 2, 2010 C. Smith (Atlanta GA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this speakerphone as a gift for Christmas for my mother. It was easily installed and is basically a one button operation which was perfect for her. She loves the ability to have hands-free phone calls while driving and I feel she is much safer now. It has voice dial capability but her current phone doesn't allow so we will wait until she can upgrade her phone to utilize that feature. The only problem she had was remembering the Motorola unit would answer her phone if she hadn't powered it off and was close to the car. This was overcome by remembering to turn off when she left the car.
