Not sure of what I should've expected here... April 23, 2010 R. Gordon (Decatur, GA United States) I bought these off of a deal site for a great price. Pairing with my iPhone was easy, and I enjoy wireless listening. I was not sure of what to expect with Bluetooth headphones, but, I'm not 100% satisfied with these. I've excluded the iPhone OS's shortcomings from my assesment of these headphones.
1. Build. Very flimsy. I think this is by design though. I put them in my laptop bag and they can conform to the available space easily. No breaks or anything in the first week of use.
2. Sound Quality. Good, but, it drops every time I make a sudden movement, like, looking down at a cute dog, or looking around after hearing a car horn. My iPhone is in my pocket, and the range is 30 feet, so I think this is a headphone shortcoming.
3. Comfort. Meh. Like the drops I get when I make sudden movements, if I look downward the phones move around. Kinda irritating.
Buy them right and these are an outstanding value April 16, 2010 Jerry Saperstein (Evanston, IL USA) I feel like I'm on the quest for the "perfect" Bluetooth headphones.
I found these on sale and figured why not.
Good decision on my part. These are much more comfortable than any of the ear clip models I've used. It would be nice if there were more cushioning on the earpieces, but these are comfortable enough for several hours at a stretch. They stay in place while walking briskly - and they are very comfortable to wear in bed.
Audio (listening) quality is okay. Definitely not top-of-the-line, but adequate for general listening. Volume range is excellent. With the audio on my MP3 player at the 50% point, cranking up the volume on the these headphones got close to the point of being painful.
Construction is okay. Not battleship quality, but okay if you aren't really rough with them. No case is provided, which if you've paid full price, is a good reason to be aggrieved with Sony. The phones fold up very nicely, but are sturdy when unfolded.
The volume controls are the most accessible I've found on any of the Bluetooth headphones I've used. A big power button is quickly locatable as is the multi-function button. None of my units support the Fast Forward/Rewind function, so I couldn't test that function. Battery life appears to be pretty good.
As a headset, this unique is surprising. Voice transmission quality is quite good. I expected it to be tinny and it was not.
Overall, a really nice pair of Bluetooth headphones. Pairing was fast and simple. Listening and transmission audio were both good. Controls are well located and easily accessed. Folds up into a nice compact package. Look around: if you can get them on one of the sale sites, they are an excellent value.

Great headset. April 8, 2010 David L. Vance (Altalnta) Great for workouts since there is no cord.
Works great with my Nexus One and other phones that do stereo bluetooth. Can switch from playing back music to a regular voice communication bluetooth device on the fly depending on your phones capabilities.
Sound quality is good. I'd rate it 8 out of 10.
Phone call quality is so-so. I rate it 5 out of 10.
Note: When using bluetooth speakers you loose the ability to make equalizer adjustments. This appears to be a limit of the technology, not the headset. However the sound quality is still good
The buyer of this headset should be:
Someone who works out/ does other physical activites where a cord gets in the way.
A commuter or travelar.
Not someone who needs to make heavy use of the phone calling feature.
(there are better headsets for that.)
Some one that's not a sound quality snob. (You know who you are.)
usual sony quality (and that's not a good thing) April 4, 2010 A. Felson (Scottsdale, A) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When it comes to being cheap, nobody can out-cheap sony. They will put a great amount of attention into the manufacturing process, then do something to trim away the last hundreth of a penny from the cost of the product and reduce reliability from years to months. As long as it makes it through the 90 day warranty, they're happy. Long term reliability is NOT a sony priority and hasn't been since the 70's. I've seen sony do things that would embarrass a kmart/walmart brand.
In the case of these headsets, the Achilles heel is the top of the headset band. They're held together with a thousanth of a penny piece of wire. The headset band is poor quality injection molded plastic. As they age, the headset will get looser and looser. Eventually you'll have trouble keeping the things on your head; lean forward they'll fall off. Don't take the bicycling as you'll be picking them up off the street. Eventually the pin will wear out and you'll see that it is just a piece of wire. Scavange the center wire of some cable-tv rg6 wire, put it through the holes and bend the edges so the wire won't fall out. Result: something a hundred times more durable than the sony part for the too-much-to-pay-price-for-sony of about 1/100th of a penny.
The headset itself is good quality although RF range is poor. Put a cell phone in your left pocket and the headset's transceiver in the right earpiece will be at the extend of its ability for a2dp playback. Turn your head to the right and it may cut out.
If you want to wear them at night, there's an annoying superbright blue LED to light up the room every few seconds.
Ok sound, ok quality, needs a carrying case, needs better sound... March 10, 2010 TexasAngel (Texas) I've owned a lot of headphones over the years. This set is ok, if it didn't cost $50. For $25 I would have rated it higher.
The sound quality is just ok, the range is fair, the battery life is fine. The two biggest problems is the sound is not really that impressive and the overall quality is a bit flimsy. It folds up, then folds in half. Sounds good, but without a carrying case, it doesn't "lock up" into place, it just flops around.
I don't mind it, but for $50 I'd expect better. I'm thinking of replacing them with a nicer set, haven't decided yet. I wouldn't order them again, given the choice.
